MIX ONCE. EAT PROTEIN ALL WEEK.

Layer oat flour, protein powder, milk powder and spices into a jar today, and tomorrow's breakfast, lunch bowl or shake is already half made. The High Protein Pantry Builder by Ellen Sawyer gives you 126 make-ahead mixes, every one with its protein counted per serving, as made, and a photo of the jar and the finished dish.

THE NUMBERS

  • 126 mixes in 6 chapters: Protein Breakfast Mixes, Protein Baking & Snacks, Bowl & Meal Boosters, Sauces & Dressings, Seasonings & Rubs, Shakes, Drinks & Puddings
  • Up to 35 g protein a serving; 84 of the 126 mixes reach 20 g or more, and the protein circle on every card tells you at a glance
  • Three ways to use every jar, plus a signature mix per chapter with batch sizes, swaps and the protein math
  • Every mix keeps 3 to 6 months in the pantry (the "keeps" time is printed on each card)
  • A full-color photo of every jar and every finished dish

REALLY CLEAR DIRECTIONS. Each card gives you what to add (bold amounts), then numbered steps with the pan, the heat, the time and the doneness cue, never "cook until done." The mix table, "To make," 3 ways, nutrition and allergens all sit on one card.

A SAMPLE MIX: P001 Protein Pancake Mix (quart jar, 8 servings). Whisk 2 cups oat flour, 1 cup vanilla whey or pea protein, instant nonfat dry milk, a little sugar, baking powder and salt into a jar. To make: 1 cup mix + 3/4 cup milk + 1 egg, rest 3 minutes, cook on a greased pan 2 minutes a side. About 23 g protein a serving; top the stack with Greek yogurt and berries for 34 g.

SUPERMARKET INGREDIENTS ONLY. Oats, flours, protein powder, milk powder, dried fruit, nuts, seeds and spices. No freeze-dried food, no dehydrator, no special equipment: a jar, a scoop and a whisk.
